WDR Lokalzeit Münsterland: Testing the LINDERA App in Bocholt

    by Menia Ettrich

In yesterday’s episode of WDR Local Time Münsterland, starting at minute 6.18, a new technology designed to protect seniors from falls was introduced. The LINDERA Mobility Analysis via App is a smartphone application that analyzes users’ movements and provides personalized recommendations to reduce the risk of falls.

AI-Powered Gait Analysis Just a Phone Scan Away

The app employs an AI algorithm to evaluate a 30-second video recording. This allows the app to identify risks associated with the user’s gait and create a plan for a longer, self-determined, and mobile life at home.

    DiPA Launching in 2024

The LINDERA Mobility Analysis app is already live nationwide in stationary care facilities. Now, the approval study for its application as a Digital Elder Care Application (DiPA) has been completed. From 2024, DiPA aims to support families and home care services.

This new category of tools introduces digital applications into nursing care through a structured approval process at the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM). Explaining DiPA on camera was a special moment for me.

Collaboration with the AZURIT Home Nursing Service Team in Bocholt
