Precise AI for unsupervised exercise corrections and training progress sets a new standard in orthopaedic aftercare

Berlin, July 05, 2023 - LINDERA GmbH secures a second European patent protecting an AI system and method for verifying physical exercises in unsupervised training. This milestone for the Berlin-based technology company follows the first patent for a diagnostic-supporting method underlying LINDERA's mobility analysis via app.

AI supports unsupervised exercise corrections in orthopaedic aftercare

The patent entitled "System and Method for Matching a Test Frame Sequence with a Reference Frame Sequence" protects a proprietary technology of LINDERA that monitors the correct performance of a physical exercise during unsupervised training.

The core innovation of this patent lies in the ability to match a test image sequence against a reference image sequence to verify and ensure compliance of the physical training performed with the intended training plan.

"This patent marks another significant step forward in our ongoing quest to combine AI and medicine in innovative and meaningful ways. Our new software and technology ensure that users can perform their exercises correctly and safely, which is crucial for the success of therapy. This patent once again underlines our leading position in the development of AI-based healthcare solutions."
Alireza Rezvani, CTO at LINDERA, comments on the patent approval

The technology is already being used in practice

The Perfect Spine Center, a renowned orthopaedic center in Vienna, is successfully using the LINDERA SDK (Software Development Kit) in pre- and post-treatment to sustainably improve the care of its patients.

With the LINDERA SDK, physiotherapy exercises can be carried out easily and intuitively in the home environment using an interactive app. Patients are currently offered more than 20 exercises, and further training sessions are planned.

Traditionally, the aftercare of orthopaedic operations was associated with many challenges: Patients often had to travel long distances to carry out exercises under the guidance of physiotherapists.

With the integration of LINDERA AI technology into the treatment practice, the professionals at the Perfect Spine Center can now provide their patients with an efficient and location-independent solution.

The use of the LINDERA SDK opens up new treatment options for the Perfect Spine Center and new types of therapy-related measures that lead to improved digital care for patients.

The positive effects of the new technology are also confirmed by Viennese spine expert and founder of the Perfect Spine Center, Dr. Alexander Tuschel:

"With LINDERA's newly patented system, we are able to have our patients perform exercises at home just as correctly as under professional guidance. Our patients feel safe and independent in their training routine.

They particularly appreciate the opportunity to continuously track their progress - especially when they are busy with work or family commitments.

LINDERA's system is the perfect complement to our training plans, which we put together individually and personalized for each patient based on a functional spine scan.

This ensures that the right exercises are performed correctly. It's as if you always have your personal trainer with you in your pocket.
"

LINDERA SDK is constantly being developed and improved

The AI technology offers unprecedented precision and a wide range of applications that are not available in conventional applications.

The LINDERA SDK also offers expansion options and constant improvements that enable partners such as the Perfect Spine Center to offer their patients even better care.

With the continuous development and integration of new features, the Perfect Spine Center stays at the cutting edge of technology and can achieve the best outcomes for its patients.

As a medical device manufacturer, LINDERA collaborates with leading companies and universities worldwide to enable people to reach the full limits of their mobility through precise assessments as they age, play sports and undergo therapy. LINDERA is supported by investors including Rheingau Founders and the family office zwei.7.
