At the right time, with the right people
How Zwei Eichen shows what digital care needs. Sometimes you don't just need the right tools - you also need the right team.
In April, I had the pleasure of conducting a workshop to introduce the LINDERA mobility analysis at theZwei Eichen senior citizens' center of the Sander Pflegegruppe in Lotte (NRW).
An appointment like many?
Not at all. Because what was noticeable here: willingness, openness - and a real desire for change.
What was special:
Care service manager Saskia Kliche had already had her first contact with the app years ago at another facility. But it didn't work as hoped back then.
The reason?
The professionals were skeptical about the introduction - there was a lack of openness to see the digital solution as support in everyday life. The technology was there - but the attitude was not (yet) ready.
Two years later, she is now sitting in the workshop with a new team. And what is different quickly becomes clear: people listen, try things out and discuss. Not just teaching technology, but actually working together.
The diversity of the participantswas particularly impressive : In addition to the nursing service management, nursing staff with very different levels of experience took part - from colleagues straight out of training to specialists with many years of professional experience.
Social care wasalso actively involved - and immediately contributed concrete ideas on how to creatively embed the mobility analysis and the exercises derived from it into the residents' everyday lives. This is exactly what a workshop should look like: interdisciplinary, practical and with direct relevance to their own work.
"The workshop was very informative and everyone really enjoyed it. We really liked the app for our company. Of course, there are people here who can do a lot in FF after 10 years - but there are also areas where it is a real help. Our trainees will also be able to make good use of it."
- Saskia Kliche, Head of Nursing Services
The specialists at Zwei Eichen are going with the flow - and that is crucial. After all, digitalization doesn't work at the touch of a button, but with people who are curious, ask questions and get involved. Saskia Kliche describes it like this:
"After two years, I see a lot of positive change in the app and am delighted to be able to launch another project with a significantly improved version. A big compliment to LINDERA - and to you. You had fun explaining the whole thing and showed that you can really have fun doing it. "
The inpatient launch of this project was planned together with Gunnar Sander, Managing Director of Sander Pflege. We have already worked together successfully in the outpatient sector as part of a study - now we are continuing this approach in the inpatient sector. This is a strong sign that the provider is not just talking about digitalization, but is actively helping to shape it.
The greatest praise?
The statement that we were looking forward to the result. Anyone who works in care knows that time is short. And if a team is looking forward to the workshop and is curious about the outcome - then we're on the right track.
The right app at the right time - but above all: with the right people. Thanks to Zwei Eichen, to Gunnar Sander, to the entire Sander Care Group - and to everyone who shows that digitalization can succeed in everyday life.
The start-up funding from the SBK (Siemens company health insurance fund) makes this project possible - and confirms that digital care works when people are allowed to help shape it.
